Stephen A. Cassella

Steve has more than 20 years of industry experience including a broad based background in acquisitions, master planning, market analysis, financial feasibility, development, leasing, marketing and management across various asset classes including regional malls, to power centers and high density urban retail.

Prior to joining Collarmele Partners, Cassella was a Limited Partner/Director of Leasing with PA Associates and Albee Development, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Acadia Realty Trust. Responsibilities included all development and leasing activities for a retail portfolio located in the Greater New York City metro area. Projects included such high profile locations as City Point in Brooklyn, George Washington Bridge Bus Terminal and Fordham Place.

Previously, Cassella served as the Senior Vice President of Mall Retail at Vornado Realty Trust where he was accountable for all aspects of a Mall Retail portfolio, comprised of 15 assets, including leasing, specialty leasing, marketing, tenant coordination and lease administration. Highlights included the redevelopment of Bergen Town Center, which combined traditional anchor department stores with a specialty food market, various fashion oriented big box retailers and a mix of traditional specialty retail and outlet retail.

From 2000 to 2006 Cassella was Senior Vice President, Project Leasing East/Midwest at Westfield where he and Tagliola managed more than $3 billion in redevelopment to update many properties to reflect the needs, wants, conveniences and lifestyle demands of the 21st century.

Steve’s regional mall career began with the Richard E. Jacobs Group and the Mugar Group, a well respected strip center developer in the Greater Boston area.
